The Tashkent Electrotechnical Institute of Communication was established in 1955 and was the unique educational institution in the Central Asian region of the former USSR. In 2002 according to the decree of the government of Republic of Uzbekistan it was transformed into the Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT).About 300 professors, assistant professor and teachers work now in the University. More than 30% of teaching staff has scientific degree, such as doctors and candidates of sciences and academic statuses, such as professors and assistant professors. TUIT is one of the first high educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which changes its old structure into the new multilevel structure. This structure provides preparation of high-qualified bachelors and masters. More than 4000 students, masters and post-graduate students study at the University in day shift and by correspondence department. are more facilities attached to the University: A great number of scientific-methodical and scientific-technical conferences and seminars are held every year at the University. The results of these conferences are published in magazines and scientific collections. Subdivisions of university and special educational classes are connected to the Internet.
